Municipal and School Board Elections 2010

The next general municipal and school board election is Wednesday, October 27, 2010.

image of ballot boxGeneral municipal elections are held every four years on the fourth Wednesday in October. This includes elections for mayors / reeves and councillors. Elections for school trustees take place the same day.

Elections in the resort communities of Winnipeg Beach, Dunnottar, and Victoria Beach are held on the fourth Friday in July. Election Day in these communities is Friday, July 23, 2010.

New for Municipal Elections 2010: Bill 35, The Municipal Conflict of Interest and Campaign Financing Act was passed on October 8, 2009. The Bill creates new campaign rules for municipalities. The news release is available here.
